This site is created and produced through a collaboration of Stan Lee’s fans, fellow artist and writers, and is done entirely from their perspective for the benefit of the millions of Stan Lee admirers throughout the world. Stan Lee's fans and admirers consist of a broad cross section of the population and they are not limited just to the younger generation — his avowed fans include Presidents (Ronald Reagan who once said he started every day reading the Spider-Man newspaper strip and George Bush who praised Lee for encouraging and assisting "millions of young people to broaden their own imaginations"). There are many other titans of diverse global echelons who passionately profess their “Stan Lee” Fandom and even Stan Lee’s competitors esteem Lee’s accomplishments and abilities as Paul Levitz the publisher for DC Comics summed it up when he stated, "Most of my generation of writers learned our craft from or through Stan Lee. He's an incredible part of the business."
Although StanLeeWeb.com is not owned or controlled by Stan Lee or any company he is affiliated with, he has graciously agreed from time to time to comment on some of his current endeavors and rap with us humorously and excitely as only Stan can. It is the purpose of StanLeeWeb.com to consolidate and share with admiration the works, stories, articles, history and future projects of perhaps the most prolific artist of our time, Stan ‘The Man’ Lee.
Stan Lee’s prodigious and timeless stories have touched our lives for generations. Unlike his predecessors and contemporaries, Stan Lee’s superheroes possessed a human element that real people could relate to and as Stan wrote of their conquest his riveting plots and furious action took us to other realities filled with adventure, inspiration, humor, courage and pure enjoyment.
Without question, Stan Lee has exerted more influence over the comic book industry than anyone in history.
Among his many accomplishments, he created or co-created 90 percent of Marvel's recognized characters, which have been successfully licensed and marketed all over the world. The numbers are staggering — it is estimated that his name appears on more than 2 billion comicbooks that have been published in 75 countries and translated into 25 languages. In Europe, Stan Lee's name appears on over 35 million comics annually and X-Men alone, each year sells more than 13 million copies.
Over the last two decades Stan Lee’s artistry has transcended from the two dimensional world of the Comic Book genre and exploded into the motion picture industry. With the advancement of computer generated imaging (CGI) modern technology has begun catching up with the imagical* Stan Lee and now finally, his characters and their conquests are able to be brought to life on the big screen, television and DVDs in a way that up until recently was privy only to those who possessed an imagination that was capable of entering the realms of Stan Lee’s world of fantasy.
We are now embarking upon the beginnings of the greatest motion picture era of all time and Stan Lee’s creations are already stellar among the beginning entries. Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man, respectively are the highest grossing Box Office Openers of All Time. Through his unforgettable characterizations and time-honored writing, Stan Lee’s imagination has spun a web that extends around our planet. Through his many countless hours of writing, the creative genius of Stan Lee, continues to pour forth those picturesque words that spawn images of ordinary men and women who by misfortune have gained superhuman abilities and although still plagued with frailties, character flaws or deeply troubled, Stan Lee’s characters somehow manage to overcome adversity, defeat the most gruesome of foe and right the wrongs of the universe. Stan Lee’s writings and creations have impacted the lives of millions and his superheroes have caused many of us to aspire to greater heights. Our world is a better place because Stan Lee dared to dream and he dared to share those dreams with us.
